Bli med oss på sykkeltur fra Firenze igjennom Chianti området til Siena og tilbake.Vi besøker slott, kirker og ikke minst praktfulle vingårder på veien. Mat og vin er i fokus, men det kan nytes med god samvittighet når en "trimmer" seg igjennom dette fantastiske distriktet...

Day 1: The historic centre of Florence and Fiesole hills – ring-shaped circuit of 35 km. – Along the way: visit to the Cappuccini Convent in Fiesole, picnic with hand-produced Tuscan cold meats and cheeses.

Day 2: Florence – Certaldo. 40 km. - This second leg begins with a gentle uphill stretch to Piazzale Michelangelo, offering one of the most breathtaking panoramas of Florence. We will then proceed, through San Casciano, along gentle uphill and downhill tracts crossing most of Florentine Chianti as far as the medieval hamlet of Certaldo, where Boccaccio was born. Along the way, visit to the cheese factory of Corzano and Paterno, lunch at the Osteria al Ponte rotto.

Day 3: Certaldo - Monteriggioni 43 km. – On the third day we’ll pedal all the way along one of the most attractive parts of the Via Francigena, the road taken by pilgrims who from Northern Europe made their way to Rome. We’ll begin this leg of the journey with a long but easy climb to the picturesque medieval hamlet of San Gimignano, to then continue towards the fortified town of Colle Val D’Elsa and top off the day in the medieval hamlet of Monteriggioni. Along the way: visit to Badia a Isola, guided wine tasting of Vernaccia wine at the Panizzi farm

Day 4: Monteriggioni - Siena (with tour of Siena) - 25 km. The itinerary planned for the fourth day is considerably shorter than the others because it’s full of things to see, in that it includes a further tour of the historic centre of Siena. Along the way: visit to Piazza del Campo, picnic on a panoramic hill just outside Siena with hand-produced Tuscan cold meats and cheeses.

Day 5: Siena - Belvedere San Leonino - 37 km. (of which 5km along unmade road) – During this fifth leg we be riding through the gentle hills of Chianti Senese, enjoying views which reach as far as the distant Val d’Orcia and Monte Amiata. Along the way: visit to the Dievole farm and tasting of the wines produced there, picnic in the medieval hamlet of Vagliagli, tour of the Charterhouse of Pontignano.

Day 6: Belvedere San Leonino - Greve - 28 km. – On the sixth day we’ll be cycling in Chianti Classico, through the medieval hamlet of Castellina and ancient castle of Panzano, pedalling along a series of uphill and downhill tracts surrounded by the vineyards where Chianti Classico is produced. Along the way: tour of the village of Panzano, tour of the Casaloste farm and tasting of wines, lunch at the restaurant La Cantinetta di Rignana.

Day 7: Greve – Florence - 32 km. – On this last leg we’ll be making our way back towards Florence along another side of Chianti Fiorentino as far as the point of departure of this marvellous bike tour. Along the way: tour of the Badia di Impruneta, visit to La Querce farm with tasting of oils, picnic with hand-produced Tuscan cold meats and cheeses.
